The coffee is as good as the coffee you buy. AND YES. If you're only making coffee for 1 or 2 people it's great. Coffee is expensive and I need to control the waste more carefully in this economy. THE POSITIVES: I like the cute little 4 cup coffee maker, though I can't seem to find it in other colors anymore (I'm shopping for a new one for my office) and would like a hotter color.red or cobalt blue perhaps. All you genius coffee pot engineers out there.FIX THE SPOUT. The tray will catch the overflow. If you put the plastic cone in wrong, which occasionally will happen if I'm in a hurry and not paying attention, it will flood all over the counter.
YES. The size is great for small apts., kitchens, desks, dorms, RV's, etc. In the larger pots I tend to make more coffee than I use and end up with a lot of wasted brew. YES. I tend to like strong Italian espresso grinds and the gold filter (extra purchase but worth it) does fine.the coffee tastes good. THE NEGATIVES: Keep it sitting in a tray on the kitchen counter. the spout leaks.I usually have to wipe up the drip and it is very annoying especially at 6AM when one eye is still glued shut. Lastly.get the stainless steel carafe.not the glass.for obvious reasons.
I agree with the other reviewers that can't make this machine pour. It is also very difficult to fill with water. It is a joke. It is impossible to pour coffee out of the carafe without spilling all over. I do have to give the machine credit for making a good cup of coffee that is somewhat hot, but overall, I wouldn't give the machine a second chance. Mine is going in the garbage can as soon as I can find a better machine.
The total volume is 16 ounces (two cups). The automatic shutoff doesn't allow for over-warmed coffee or burned out elements. This is okay. I don't like drinking old over-warmed coffee, anyway. The stainless steel carafe means less glass carafe breakage and replacement hassle. I have had it for just a coupe weeks.Even though the plastic lid over the pot seems a little fragile and a little complicated, the DCC "4"-Cup is a good value.
30 minutes is basically 15 minutes of brewing, then 15 minutes of you drinking your first cup then coming back to a luke-warm second cup and spilling it all over again because even though you thought you have it figured out, it still spills. Cuisinart is smearing its good name with this one. As everyone else said already, this peice spills coffee all over, and then turns itself off. Junk. And the stainless steel
I use bottled water because our tap water makes the coffee taste gross. I've had this product for two years now and it still brews a great cup off coffee. When I pour my coffee, I pour it slowly and keep a paper towel handy. I agree with the other reviewers about the spillage. I finally just gave up and I use a plastic cup to fill the reservoir with water instead of the carafe. I am actually looking to buy one for my office but I was surprised to see that the retail price is almost double what I paid for mine. I will be shopping for a used one.
